Watch: An Interview With Charlie Medina

Gabriel Medina’s probably going to be our 2018 World Champion. As much as us Ozzies like to barrack for Jules and hammer out captions like #carnjoycey, it’s tough to deny Gabriel’s sheer ability… or his dominant ratings lead.

In some respects, Medina has a comparable allure to Kelly in his earlier years. Before Kelly fully embraced the collective natures of social media, he was shrouded in mystery. Like Medina today, he was a surfer who everyone knew, but one we knew little about.

While this interview courtesy of Rip Curl far from provides a comprehensive background to Gabby, it is nice to get some backstory from the perspective of his dad, Charlie.
