It’s hard not to dig a surfer like Riley Laing. Kid was surfing Shipsterns as young as 13, then showed up at the Cape Fear event at just 17, ready to tackle anything. And although Riley lost to close friend Russell Bierke at the Red Bull event, he put his name, style, and conviction out there for the whole world to see. Hoping to add to his already impressive repertoire, Riley jumped around the more remote reaches of Australia recently in hopes of sniffing out perfect, empty waves. The results were compelling.
