This Is What It Feels Like To Fight For CT Spot In Hawaii

Every year, a hundred-or-so CT hopefuls descend on Oahu for the Vans Triple Crown.

Most of them will only surf in two of those events—Haleiwa and Sunset—before returning home with tails between their legs, licking wounds etc. 

This year, our friends at Red Bull followed four of these qualification stories: Cam Richards, Benji Brand, Barron Mamiya, and Jack Robinson. The first episode of “Inflection Point” features the surfers’ performances at Haleiwa, their penultimate event to qualify for the big leagues. 

While we already know the outcomes, we find their stories engaging nonetheless.
