This Is How The Everyman Surfs Deserts And Padang
Style we can relate to, tubes we cannot.
Chances are, you surf more like these guys than you do the pros we typically post.
That’s not an insult by any means. Especially when you see how fucking funneled these “joes” are getting at some of Indo’s most elegant tube emporiums: Deserts, Padang, and so on.
The only difference between them and you? They spent their covid stint in one of the most wave-rich places on earth, while you’re (according to Google Analytics) most likely in California.
In fairness, a large portion of you are also in Australia, which has had an incredible winter. However the waves there, while of an undeniable quality, remain significantly more difficult to ride than the divinely-carved reefs of Indo. So a back-lit, six-second tube is unlikely.
Anyway, we recommend you use this video as fuel to 1. get out of dodge as soon it’s legal and 2. get a wave that’s good enough to land yourself on a random Indo highlight reel on Youtube.
