This Drop Made Us Spill Our Evening Red!
The amount of underground talent in Australia cannot be overstated.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times: no country has deeper pockets of surf talent than Australia.
Paddle out in any lineup from the Sunshine Coast to Kalbarri, and there will be at least one (but an average of four) surfer(s) who make your head involuntarily turn.
In the case of Western Australia, there’s a genuine army of world-class tuberiders whose names we’ve never heard (or at least this American has never heard).
The clip above stars WA’s underground talents of Nick Muntz, Josh Cattlin, Jake Edwards, and Jack Chalis, who make a habit of chasing liquid chambers up and down their wave-rich coast.
We were particularly enamored by the Gnaraloo section, with the bomb-drop at 3:17 taking top honors.
