The WSL Compiled All Of John Florence’s Best Waves From A Decade On Tour
Tell us he’s not the best surfer in the world.
The WSL is many things, and as mad as they make us at times, we can’t actually hate them. Because at the end of the day, they provide free, virtual access to the thing surf fans want to see most: the world’s best surfers in the world’s best waves.
Take, for example, the most talented man to set foot to wax in the past 10 years (and it’s not even close), John Florence. In nearly a decade on Tour, John’s had countless eight, nine, and 10-point rides. So many remarkable waves that, frankly, it’s difficult to remember even half of them.
That’s where the WSL comes in. Recently, they set an avid intern on the search for all of John’s excellent-scoring waves. Waves from Pipe, from Teahupo’o, from Margaret River and beyond. Once compiled, they realized a two-hour film wouldn’t work for Youtube’s algorithm so they cut it down to 16-minutes and published. You can watch it above.
And if you enjoy this film, try to keep it in mind the next time the WSL pisses you off. Those poor bastards are doing their best!
