The waves broke liberally and with an excess of spirit in Florianopolis today.

Yago Dora, Mateus Herdy, and Marco Giorgi shared a session that, for the vast majority of us, would consist of searching fruitlessly for a tube while writing-off the rest of the wave on some flimsy principle of integrity (when really, it’s fear that prevents us from pegging the slightly overhead lip).

But because Yago, Mateus, and Marco are of an elite caliber and also not total pussies, they laced a bounty of tubes and turned too-heavy-to-floater sections into wildly adept punts.  

As previously mentioned, this all went down earlier today. You might be wondering what kind of person films, edits, and uploads a session of this caliber in the same 12 hours. That’d be Bruno Zanin—a talented and driven Brazilian surf filmmaker.

Despite his affinity for producing the highest quality surf porn, Bruno recognizes that the market isn’t what it once was, which is why he couldn’t find a buyer for these A-grade clips.

“This pandemic thing made the surfing market just stop,” Bruno told us. “It’s been hard for me as a filmmaker, but I fucking love what I do, and I’m lucky to be filming my friends ripping at our backyard.. it all pays off at the end.”
