Here’s That Cape Fear Highlight Reel You’ve Been Wanting
Oh the anxiety!
There’s no hyperbole worthy of Cape Fear. It was the most hectic surf event in history. Mark Mathews called it a “one-in-ten-year swell” and we’re inclined to agree. Russ Bierke proved behind his shy, smiling demeanor, there’s a true maniac willing to whip into any cavern no matter the size or consequence. And although the WSL told the BWWT competitors if they participated they’re off the tour, Mark invited an all Australian crew of mad chargers. James “Rooster” Adams showed up from the mines and borrowed a wettie and broke a bunch of Mr Mathews blades while he surfed his way into the final with upmost commitment. The event was wild. Here are the highlights; try not to cringe.
