“The wave itself is insane. One of the best big wave barrels in Australia for sure,” explains surf cinematographer Andrew Kaineder, referencing the location where he witnessed the best surfing he’s ever seen.
“We call Russ [Bierke] the weatherman because he’s almost got a sixth sense for forecasting. You’ll be down at the surf and he’s like ‘the wind should turn south in 10 minutes’. You’re like ‘mate, we’re at the surf, lets just see what happens’. But the funny thing is quite often he’s right.”
