Tee Shirt-Talk: Ace Buchan’s Wardrobe and Sydney Abode
Ace holds no qualms about wearing a tee adorned with his own name.
There’s only so many Hurley logo tee’s that’ll fit in a wardrobe, so here’s something else to try for size.
To celebrate their team riders, Hurley enlisted Julio ‘YAIA’ Battistelli, an Argentinian designer, to craft a range of rider-inspired shirts, reminiscent of early-’80s skate graphics.
“From the early sketches to the final art, I was driven to build something that while new and unique, paid homage to classic California surf and skate vibes, an era that captured the mind of my generation.” Yaia said about the range.
The range features one-off limited edition tees from Ace Buchan, Kolohe Andino, John Florence, Michel Bourez, Julian Wilson, and Filipe Toledo, with graphics inspired by each surfer’s individuality, style, and heritage; now you can support your favourite surfer without looking like one of those full-kit football wankers.
In episode two of Hurley’s T-Shirt Talk, Ace takes us on a short tour of his new Curl Curl apartment. We get a look at the boards he’s unwilling to wax-up, his small and humble range of tee’s, as well as just how sloppy Sydney’s surf often is.
The range is called the Team Pro Series and can be purchased from a number of good retailers as well as the Hurley site here.
