Singling and Mingling
Kyle Kennelly, a Putnam-Hilbers design, and the benefits of a single-fin’s neutral handling
Here’s a little divergent weekend watching: the latest short surf flick from True Ames fins, “Meridiem Odyssey,” featuring Kyle Kennelly, a sub-7’0 Evolution-era outline Joey Bookout, and 9.5″ flex fin from the Hulled out brains of Kirk Putnam and Brian Hilbers (PHD=Putnam-Hilbers Design).
While we’ll always prefer a thruster, quad, or twin’s more clawing, driven nature, it’s always nice to see someone comfortable with a single-fin’s neutral handling, and the understated way in which they prefer to be ridden.
