Probing the Depths Of The European Pipeline
This local stud has the place wired.
Europe has a slew of well-known heavy waves. Between Mullaghmore, The Cave, Belharra, and obviously Nazare, there’s plenty of continental adrenaline to go around. Manuel Lezcano has no problem with that. The Spaniard grew up on the Canary Islands, whose location just off the coast of Northwest Africa exposes its coastline to the same Northern Atlantic ground swells that light up Europe’s coast every winter.
Featuring a wave that looks like a combination of Gnaraloo and Pipeline, Manuel is top of the pecking order at this lesser-known spot that shan’t be named (though you could find it quite easily with a Google search).
This volcanic reef is right out front of Manuel’s childhood home. His positioning, wave choice, and stand-tall approach all scream one thing: local. Click in above for a look at Manuel’s guilty pleasure, but don’t expect to be nabbing set waves out there, something tells us Miguel has those reserved…
