Puerto Escondido is one the world’s best beach breaks. Top five easily. It’s mostly closeouts but when they hit the bank just right, man, what a thrill. This clip was shot last weekend (July 5th and 6th), the same weekend Doz bagged his monster and Domke towed his finless gem. What this edit provides, however,  more than any other surf porn that shows what happens in the water as shot from land, is the vibe. You can feel the vibe on the beach. The scene of mangy dogs, the skis being launched on the beach dollies, the crowd on the shore and the very chilled crowd in the water, despite having 20 footers rolling through to disturb the serenity. Twenty footers, you ask? Oh yeah, the most alarming thing about drone footage is how much it dwarfs footage. These waves are way bigger and way more evil than this clip would have you believe. Easily the highlight of this piece is the tube of Oscar Moncada at 0.55.
