Peaking: Coco Nogales

Preparation is important in most walks of life. But in XXL surfing, it’s dire. In Peaking, Red Bull explores how the world’s best big wave surfers get physically and mentally prepared to tackle the world’s biggest waves. This episode features the unofficial mayor of Puerto Escondido: Mr. Carlos ‘Coco’ Nogales. Born in the mountains of Mexico, Coco made his way to the streets then eventually to the beach – which is just where he belongs. He’s since risen to surf fame and is the Mexican ambassador to the XXL community. Today, we watch him get ready to surf the biggest swell of the summer at his favourite stretch of sand. We see the trials, tribulations and eventual triumph of life in the unpredictable sea.
