Parker Coffin’s Surfing In Mirrors

A few months back Parker released a clip, but due to copyright laws it vanished from the internet. “After a long process, I finally locked down the music rights,” he tells Stab regarding this high energy jam by Foals. “I also got my hands on some new footage and threw in a little twist.”

Surfers for a long time have watched footage in mirrors, to see the way their fav opposite footed gents draw lines. “This last year I spent about five months out of the water due to injuries,” he says. “I watched every surf movie ever made ten times over. After a while I got bored and started watching them all in the mirror to spice things up. Now, I’m pretty much only watching surfing as long as the person is riding goofy foot. In doing so, I feel like I can understand the way the regular foot surfs and can relate to it. I thought that it would be cool to release a part that was me as a regular foot for the same reason.” The first half’s for the goofy’s, the second’s for the regulars… an astute move by Mr Coffin, we all gravitate towards our kind.
