One Boat, Five Surfers, And An Undulating New Caledonia

You remember that boat trip we were hammering on about a few months back? The one where two lucky surfers would be picked based on their friend’s nominations and trip around the tropics for a couple of weeks in search of waves?

Well it happened.

But the above video isn’t portraying that journey just yet.

Before the Vonu vessel headed further north towards towards Fiji, they stopped off at New Caledonia in search of a couple of bonus waves. On the trip was Asher Wales, Asher Pacey, Harrison Roach, Tevita Gukilau and Jay Button, whereas the rest of the surfers – Ryan Callinan and Jarrah Tutton – joined the expedition afterwards.

New Caledonia wasn’t really pumping, but it’s pretty hard to complain when you’re surfing untouched waves, with a handful of mates and a literal boat’s worth of beers.
