Kyllian Guerin Don’t Need No Air Reverse
J Flo 2.0?
I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen enough clips of thirteen-year-olds doing air reverses for (at least) the rest of 2017.
I understand that in those pre-pubescent years, when legs are like toothpicks rather than redwood, it’s near-impossible for kids to perform tectonic lippers or carves. So instead, the most talented goslings focus on what their frail limbs can handle: tech tech and tech. And there’s nothing wrong with that, in fact it’s a perfectly normal evolution, but when one kid raises his hand and says, “Hey, I see everyone doing this, so I’m gonna do that“, I give that kid a second glance.
Over the past years Kyllian Guerin, an early-teener from France, has built a reputation as someone who not only rips, but also hucks himself over and under any ledge without contemplation — just look at how he handles those lemons at La Grav (above).
Kyllian reminds me of a young Jeremy Flores. Do you remember when, at just 17, Jeremy trounced Andy Irons in heaving barrels at the 2005 Quik Pro? No finners necessary!
