Jett Schilling And The Colapinto Brothers Run Laps At Home
Those damn San Clemente boys know how to wiggle.
There are a few reasons I don’t surf Lowers. My legs cramp halfway through the 20-minute hike, the rocks hurt my little footsies, and honestly, I don’t shouldn’t be out there. That’s not a wave; it’s a training ground.
When I look around the lowers lineup and see the level of talent I’m rubbing elbows with, I tend to feel like a bit of a jackass. A few boys that do fit in out there are Jett Schilling and the Colapinto brothers. They belong at that wave like peanut butter belongs inside of chocolate. Every square inch of the section is accounted for and lacerated without hesitation.
Can surfing be described as spicy? When I see Jett round a corner going Mach 5, the first word that comes to mind is “spicy.” I mean, it’s certainly not a mild shift in direction.
