Japanese Rice Farmer Enjoys Frightening Sumatran West Bowls
Kaito Ohashi is on his best behavior.
Kaito Ohashi, Former’s Japanese “Meat Hammer,” has an approach to surfing that says, ‘I’d rather fall in the most precarious position than appear in anyway unsightly or awry.’
A stylist of the purest order.
The Vans Stab High: Central America star has now started his own brand, entitled Lordish Behavior, where he sells wetsuits, pads, and other items of general necessity. Essentially, it’s a way to bolster his rice farming income (yes, actually) while delving into the ever-populous Japanese surf market.
With a variety of underground Japanese team riders including Shun Murakami, Naomi Kobayashi, Kohei Kume, Kai Ojima, Yuji Mori, and Soma Hirahara, we’d say Kaito has a fair share of the northeast Asian market covered.
Plus, the above edit — and especially the final Sumatran west-bowl — is a very convincing marketing strategy.
Let’s see if it pays off, and maybe he’ll find his way into an eventual Season 7 of How Surfers Get Paid.
