Jackson Dorian’s Summer Was All Of Our Bucket List Trips Rolled Into One
Australia, Indo, Maldives, Mexico, should we keep going?
There’s no surfer we’d rather be right now than Jackson Dorian.
Thirteen years old, all the talent in the world, the world’s greatest surfer-mentor as his father, and a passport that gets a new, colorful stamp biweekly. Do you think Jackson knows how good he has it?
Probably not. Kids are typically oblivious to everything outside their immediate field of vision. They live in a self-centered bubble, where no matter how good or bad they may have it in relation to their peers, their situation is simply perceived as “normal.” This isn’t their fault—it takes many years to take a step back and attain true self awareness.
Plus, everything about Shane tells us that he instills great values in his son. But Jackson’s life experiences will shape his understanding of the world over anything he’s told, meaning that half a dozen trips to marquee surf destinations in a summer will become the status quo in his mind. Luckily for Jackson, he surfs well enough that those trips will soon become part of his actual job, if they’re not already.
Hence our envy!
