Watch: Jack Freestone, Right Now!
Beach Chair: Mr Freestone on nature vs machine, advice for his younger self, and more.
Jack Freestone, with his crazy, stupid-good surfing and Hollywood jawline, is back and street legal for 2017. After tweaking one of his hinges in the Quiksilver Pro, Gold Coast last year, he’s understandably itching to better 2016’s poor result at this year’s event. So naturally, while Stab and Corona document the most engaging activity in the peripherals of 2017’s debut event via our Beach Chair series, we had to unravel what’s in Jack’s head on the eve of Snapper’s first siren. Does he prefer man-made perfection, or the natural kind? What makes a successful year on the world tour? What would he tell 12-months-ago Jack? This, and more, we learn from Mr Freestone, whose demeanour during our chat was affable as ever.
