Okay, let’s not mess our words here but tomorrow might be the single best day of competition since the final of the Billabong Pipe Masters in December. You remember that one. The day Mick Fanning got his third and Kelly took the win at flawless Pipeline. Well, tomorrow at Teahupoo has the same amount of talk about it. Surfers have been delivered floatation devices and the event will run no matter what. The main talk currently is trying to determine which surfer will be more favoured in eight-to-12 foot Teahupoo. Early indications is that it will be the natural footers (who can slide in late) will have the advantage over the goofyfooters who’ll have to make the drop and then bottom turn into the tube. Here’s footage from Morgan Maassen at last year’s event to give you a little taste of what it won’t be like tomorrow.
