Homegrown Ep.1: Nick Rozsa
Remember in school, when your slightly inexperienced relief teacher would tactically overlook the curriculum and opt for a movie marathon day instead, typically comprising Wayne’s World, E.T and Clueless (depending on your era)? Well, we get that same feeling of elation every time Chris Papaleo drops a new edit. This week, it’s the first episode of his new Homegrown series, featuring Nick Rozsa playing in the cleanest of peels at home in California over spring. This ain’t some one-turn highlight reel. Nick is throwing some serious heat in this three-minute banger and uses each wave from start to finish, top to bottom. It all comes together nicely with a catchy tune by Electrelane. “This video is a couple of the better sessions during March and April around Nick’s home in Ventura,” says Chris Papaleo. “We we’re fortunate enough to have a few head-high days while shooting this before California went back to its usual flat ways more recently. The past few months Nick has been experimenting with a wide variety of new boards as you will see in the clip. Stepping up his normal size sticks a few inches from mostly 5’7 to some 5’10s. Now we are off to Lowers for the week in hopes of fighting for leftovers with a thousand frothing groms (laughs).” Get more brill like this over at Salty Beards.
