Gearoid McDaid’s English May Be Difficult To Decipher, But Tubes Transcend All Dialects

Gearoid McDaid is one of Ireland’s best surfers. That’s probably the main reason we remember his name, second being that his name in itself is pretty memorable. 

While Gearoid spends a little bit of time frolicking on the world qualifying series Challenger Series, his best surfing happens in Ireland’s heavy (and cold) water spots—think Rileys and Mullaghmore.

This latest clip, titled Over The Ledge, is part bio part usual surf clip. There’s all the typical big wave prowess we’ve come to expect for Gearoid along with some cameos from Nic Von Rupp and William Aliotti. Surrounding that is a bunch of spoken words from Gearoid, Nic, and Will about his progress over the last few years.
