Mick Fanning Loves Sharks Now!

The 3x Champ will star in “Save This Shark,” a new Nat Geo show dropping this September.

Mick Fanning once bullied a Great White shark so badly that it became a tech pioneer and/or successful vlogger.

Now older and more mature, Mick has realized that punching sharks isn’t representative of the man he wants to be. In fact, the 3x Champ has done a complete 180 on the topic, attempting to befriend the ocean’s once-apex predator rather than bash their stinking teeth in.

A new Nat Geo TV show, “Save This Shark”, will follow Mick’s redemptive journey in the big fish world. Visiting bull, tiger, and wobbegong communities around the globe, Mick’s goal is to show this once-apex predator that he’s not so scary after all. And that his hand can be warm and welcoming when not wound tightly in a fist.

Since the incident in South Africa, juvenile sharks have spent many a sleepless night worrying about when the boogeyman might come and rearrange their gills. But fear not, little death machines. This time, Mick comes in peace.
