Don’t Sleep On Mauro Diaz, Metal Neck’s Newest Recruit
One of Puerto Rico’s rawest!
Mauro Diaz is quickly becoming a Stab favorite, a Puerto Rican export with a raw, rough-around-the-edges approach we adore, and one of the only youngsters who can proudly claim they can handle traveling with Christian Fletcher, no worries.
He’s also just one of the sweetest kids you’ll ever run into on a surf trip, worldly and polite, cool under pressure, one of those groms who doesn’t flinch at a cancelled flight or an all-night, all-out drive to score surf.
While filming in Mexico for “The Electric Acid Surfboard Test,” Mauro and fellow PR stud Rolo Montes rocked up to one of Salina Cruz’s most prized points on one of its best days of the year, having just taken a grinder of a bus ride up from Puerto Escondido the night before. Turns out Mauro was holed up in Mex indefinitely, harvesting footage for the clip above that Metal Neck’s illustrious Matt Tromberg put together. Click in.
