Does Your Mom Want Second Reef Roll-Ins?

The fact that Frankie Harrer doesn’t have a sticker on the nose of her board is a poignant testament to the financial state of the surf industry.

The Malibu mom has spent the past year getting exquisitely tubed in Chile, Tahiti, Namibia, and at home — and dropped one of the most potent female freesurf clips in recent memory — yet continues to harbor empty real estate on the pointy ends of her weaponry.

“I’d like to work with someone who’s down to keep making videos,” she told us earlier this year. “I want to go to places where it isn’t common for other girls to go and put together some sick clips with other women. I think a lot of people might write me off because I became a mom, but I still want to surf as much as I did before, and do as many trips.”

And, with five Europe trips, a few Hawaii strikes, some Africa missions, and some solid time in the Tahiti channel already under two-year old Yara’s belt, one can’t deny that Frankie is staying true to her word.
