Concerns Over Chippa Wilson’s Boards Making It To Stab High
“Last time I went there, I ended up getting to the pool with no boards. No nothing.”
Last time Chippa Wilson went to the Waco, Texas wavepool, he got out of the van only to find that his board bag had blown off somewhere between Dallas Fort-Worth Airport and BSR Cablepark. They retraced their steps to no avail and Chippa ended up borrowing one of Nate Tyler’s boards for the remainder of the trip.
We put up a reward of $500USD for anyone who could return Chippa’s boards – which was significantly less than the resale value of the board bag plus the five boards inside that bag. However, it was the reward for being a good samaritan – whether or not that’s worth its price depends on your moral compass.
Come September 22nd, we’re hoping for a better tie down on the road to Waco.
After watching Chippa take to the Surf Ranch air show/expression session from the comfort of a setting sun in Lemoore last Saturday, we’re becoming increasingly excited for our upcoming surf event at BSR Cable Park in Waco, Texas where we will have a field of 20 of the world’s best aerial surfers (outside of the WSL’s jurisdiction–WSL surfers are forbidden to surf non-WSL sanctioned events).
The contest itself will be roughly a four hour jam sesh. There will be food, drinks and adult beverages. A ticket gets you access to the world’s largest lazy river and one of the wildest waterslides we’ve ever seen; a live performance by Poolside and a DJ to be announced to keep the party going until they kick us out; French illustrator, Lucas Beaufort’s (the man behind the monsters in these teasers) live art installation; the contest itself and much more.
