Through years of careful research and analysis, I’ve determined that shallow sand-bottomed points are my favorite type of wave. Reasons being that they’re exciting, relatively safe, and they offer the minute possibility of a 10-second tube.
And because of this Cabo Blanco, the now-pierless wave you see above (thanks El Niño!), is high on my list of must-visit surfing destinations. Even if it is a damn left.
