Asher Pacey Only Goes Right, and That’s Fine By Us
Featuring clips that nearly adorned his Snapt4 sections.
It’s only February, yet there is little doubt that Snapt4 will be the best surf film of summer ’21.
With a cast including Jack Robinson, Mason Ho, Josh and Seth Moniz, Benji Brand, and Asher Pacey (along with many more) it would be impossible for this film not to be an instant classic. Director Logan Dulien’s rule that all clips included in Snapt4 must be original (no recycling anything posted on IG/Youtube) is ingenious. Not only does it ensure the film’s originality, but it creates a marketing machine entirely free of cost via their B-roll edits, the likes of which have amassed 150k+ Youtube views in their promotion of the film.
The above is Asher Pacey’s second official B-roll release in seven months. Last week, we posted a clip of our interview with Andrew Schulz, in which he says, in no gentle terms: I love going left, going right is a waste of my fucking time. To which Logan replied…
We can’t blame Asher Pacey here. While his stance may be regular, his surfing on his forehand is anything but. Swooping and swerving, Asher puts his 6’0 frame to use on his varied, short Album twin fins, going so far as to do a literal soul arch on a 4’9. With his B-roll including what is already some of the best ‘tiny board’ surfing to date, we can’t wait to see what he and Logan are sitting on come summer.
