Asher Pacey, His Twins, And A Groomed Mex Point
The footage is a little ‘handycam-ish’, but Asher’s fluid surfing shines through.
In your late 30’s you can expect your surfing career to start slowing down. Sponsors tend to drop, video parts become scarce, and unless you earned considerable cash in your prime you can expect a tough transition into the normal workforce.
If this is the rule, Asher Pacey is this exception. A few years off 40 and Asher Pacey is more sponsored and sought after than he’s ever been. In the last two years he’s picked up RVCA as a sponsor, now Album surfboards, and is one of the most played surfers on this part-time clip posting site.
The above clip feature’s Asher on a playful Mexican point doing the sort of stuff he usually does on waves—everything but airs.
The footage is a little handycam-esque, but Asher’s surfing shines through any production or editing skills which make surf footage more enjoyable.
Put it on, get hyped up to surf, and then be bitterly disappointed when your surf doesn’t mimic this due to average waves and a restricted skillset.
