2012 Nike US Open of Surfing

While Chopes lingers on the horizon, the Nike US Open of Surfing is far closer to shore. Surfing’s most crowd-pulling event, won last year by Kelly Slater and Sally Fitzgibbons, kicks off this coming Saturday and y’can expect the usual amounts of flash and trash pounding the Huntington sand and boardwalk. And, of course, all the top seeded qualifies and those who’ve already proven themselves, scratching beneath the pier.
