Aerials are difficult. Timing, commitment, and experience all determine whether you look like a calculated CT surfer or a geriatric donkey stumbling through the air. While surfers with 10+ years of experience often struggle to navigate life above the lip, it seems as if younger and younger surfers are waltzing through the sky.

The proof for my argument lies under the feet of 14-year-old Dane Henry. The 540 attempt was enough to catch our attention, but we stayed for the flared-out air reverses.
