Watch: Highlights From The Single Fin Festival
Ethan Ewing makes surfing single fins in wonky Burleigh kinda fun.
There’s no point in lying and claiming Burleigh was cooking over the weekend; the footage is above. Wave quality however isn’t what determines the success of Billabong’s annual single fin fest at Burleigh.
Yeah, when the waves are head-high and the bank well-formed it makes for some good competition, but there’s little that would quash the general aura of the people that show up to Burleigh point every year. With an abundance of tents selling everything from booze to clothes, and a flurry of pre-1985 hand crafted single fins, all followed by a party on the point a good day weekend is almost guaranteed.
You can’t capture all the essence from the above highlights reel, but it does a decent job of showing the surfing highlights there were and the mixed craft the surfers were atop.
