Tyler Wright Tests Poz For Spicy Cough
Jungle fever for reals.
Two time World Champion and current world number #3, Tyler Wright has entered the WSL’s COVID safety protocols.
WSL COVID policy guidelines stipulate all surfers must:
- Complete COVID-19 testing prior to arrival
- All event attendees must present a negative COVID-19 test result (PCR -72hrs, or Antigen -48hrs) to check in to the event, or recovery documentation, or return a negative Antigen test result to check in to the event
- In Indonesia, all surfers must have been double jabbed
Tyler’s swab, obvs, did not please RAT.
“Based on the league’s protocols, Wright is expected to be cleared for competition by Saturday, June 4, 2022. The health and wellness of athletes, staff, fans, and the local communities where we compete, remains the WSL’s top priority.”
Ha. Top priority.
Let’s not talk about Monday night though.
Jimmy Slade cast some subtle shade via IG.
With competition expected to resume on the 3rd, Tyler may suffer a similar fate to Steph earlier at Pipe this season, unable to compete in the elimination round and thereby getting automatic last place.
This will not be Tyler’s first time battling lil microbes either, after being sidelined for the best part of a year in 2018/2019 after a horrific bout of post-viral syndrome.
