Thief arrested with 50 pairs of stolen Hurley Phantoms
There’s no greater compliment for a brand than having someone try to steal your product, right? Hurley Phantoms are perhaps the best tech trunks on the market, worn by some of the world’s best surfers (John John Florence, Julian Wilson, etc). And today, a 34-year-old Berwick man was found by police with around 50 pairs of brand new Phantoms in the back of his car, still tagged. Except, weirdly, he couldn’t find his receipt. “Fell of the back of a truck, eh,” was presumably his sound defence for being caught with over $3k worth of trunks. Various Australian (loose term:) media sources made the most of ample pun opportunities (“Short of Shorts?”, “Thief wipes out!”). Bravo to all involved. And btw Police are appealing for public help to find the owner of the shorts. There’s a lifetime supply of tech trunks available here if you’re savvy enough.
