The Next Maverick’s Titan Is In This Nominee List

As of November 1st, the world’s most prestigious big wave event could run at the drop of a hat, or dark blob on the swell chart. Twenty-four hellmen and women will drop what they’re doing and make a beeline for Half Moon Bay when organisers are happy there’s enough energy inbound. In the meantime they’ve just released the preliminary list of 56 nominees, who they’ll eventually trim down to 24, including two wildcards as the final list of competitors who’ll tackle Mavs. Shout out goes to the growing women contingent that includes lady-chargers; Paige Alms, Maya Gabeira, Andrea Moller, Emily Erickson, and ‘honorable mention’ Savannah Shaughnessy. 

Nic Lamb took the thing out last year overcoming a hefty wipeout to take the $120k loot, while the Best Barrel was awarded to Jamie Mitchell and Boldest Drop to Mr Greg Long. 

The Titans of Mavericks Opening Ceremony will take place on October 21st.
