The 2013 ASP Dream Tour Schedule

ASP just dropped their 2013 dream tour schedule. Most notable in their absences are the Billabong Pro, J-Bay (still), and the O’Neill Coldwater Classic, which truly seems to have been a one-off speciality event to celebrate 60 years of O’Neill. With the gap those two events leave, the 2013 tour will consist of only nine stops. That’s down from 10 stops in 2012 and 11 stops the previous year. Luckily, the Volcom Fiji Pro is here to stay. How could it not be, with the success that was this year’s event? Oh, and the Telstra Drug Aware Pro, Margaret River? In 2014, it’s being upgraded to WCT status. Ain’t that something. These are the spots you’ll see being lit up by the 34 next year… 2013 ASP World Championship Tour: – Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast – March 2 – 13, 2013 Taj Burrow, winning the first event of the year. Photo: ASP/Robertson – Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach – March 27 – April 7, 2013 Mick Fanning, Bells champ. Photo: ASP/Kirstin – Billabong Rio Pro – May 8 – 19, 2013 Reckon lil’ Johnny’s first victory in the big leagues tasted sweet? Photo: ASP/Kirstin – Volcom Pro Fiji – June 2 – 14, 2013 Kelly didn’t like missing Rio. So, he came back and won Fiji. Photo: ASP/Kirstin – Billabong Pro Teahupo’o – August 15 – 26, 2013 And, Mick’s second win. Thank Laird that Chopes is still on the program. Photo: ASP/Rowland – Quiksilver Pro France – September 27 – October 7, 2013 And then went again, in France. Beating Dane Reynolds in the final, even.
