Survey: Are You Afraid Of The Shark?

We’ve done a lot of shark attack stories. If you type “Stabmag shark attack Ballina” into your Google search it’ll fill up the entire page with articles–and then some–on incidences on Australia’s North Coast (and that’s just the North Coast!). We know, we just tried it. Not that we aren’t aware of the time we’ve spent covering attacks in the area, but when our day-to-day is a constant fluctuation of what’s next? To see it laid out like that was startling. It’s an epidemic. 2016’s the year of the shark and no one’s safe… Is that extreme or on the money? It’s hard to tell. They say you have more of a chance getting struck by lightning than attacked by a shark, but if you live on the North Coast it’s quite the contrary–and like lightning, it can happen to anybody. So, for the sake of media based scare tactics: No one is safe.

And as we’re aware that attacks don’t only occur in Australia, we want to know your thoughts on the toothy fish inhabiting the space below our surfboards.
