Two above-the-lip varials on day three of the Hurley Pro, Lower Trestles? The second of which, belonging to Jules Wilson, was complimented by a backside air-revs, then given a lower score than a fistful of frontside tags from Joel Parko. “Julian’s wave wave was sick,” Joel said. “I don’t know what to say about it though, I’m a purist.” And, Kelly Slater, 10x world champion, in an altercation with Brazilian Adriano De Souza? “Apparently Adriano was abusing Kelly in the water,” said a bystander. “They had words when Adriano had just won his heat. Kelly came in and was fuming and just wanted to smack him, but I’m not sure what happened after that. I think some officials had to step in and diffuse the situation.” Drama, drama, drama down there at Trestles.
