We also hear from Ali Klinkenberg, a Stab writer who recently penned a tale about the inimitable Pauline Menczer, with whom he shares a childhood illness. Pauline was a World Champ who earned not a penny for her achievements—a fact that has since been partially amended thanks to a successful GoFundme campaign sparked by the upcoming documentary Girls Can’t Surf.
