Love is in the hair.
Mikey Wright Gets Engaged To His Spearfishing Queen
Even mongrels must eventually be domesticated.
Mikey Wright has been out of competition for more than half the year with a busted back, but he's been far from idle in his rest.
When he's not busy fishing, throwing knives, or feeding the local cattle population, Mikey Wright has been cultivating a loving partnership with one Shenay Carey, a grinning Australian gal whose Instagram bio reads, "VB and a rare steak."
Like Mikey, Shenay is clearly a fan of fishing, middle fingers, and cheap Australian beer. A match made in Culburra.
Mikey symbolized his affection for Ms. Carey with a shiny mineral affixed to a finger loop—a timeless tradition that converts to many appreciation taps on photo-sharing applications. The Mullet has even agreed to share ownership of his scruffy, adorable dog with his wife-to-be, which is the truest sign of love.
It also serves as proof that even Mongrels can, eventually, be tamed.
While Mikey and Shenay are busy planning a VB-themed ceremony, we hope the youngest Wright won't get off track with his spinal recovery efforts. We want to see that flowing mane back at Snapper next March.
