Kolohe Andino Now Rides For O’Neill
Now can we get a Brother, Jordy, Simmers feature film plz?
You heard it here first — remember? Astute readers will recall a piece Stab published a few months ago, titled “Reckless Isolation Put Kolohe Andino In The Middle Of A Bidding War That Surfing Hasn’t Seen In Years.”
Well the war is over.
Kolohe is now locked in for five years at the Santa Cruz-based wetsuit and apparel company alongside fellow CT surfer Jordy Smith.
Kolohe, for good reason this year, made the Most Influential List Of 21’. Sam McIntosh spelled it out for us.
“It’s easy to talk a big game about what your plans are in the future but it’s far more impressive to walk it first. And that’s what Kolohe did.
Always his way, with little fanfare and without telegraphing every move on social media. He believed in an idea (Reckless Isolation), he invested and he had no inkling that it would ever lead to a bidding war between the incumbent Hurley and the winning suitor.
In a pandemic environment where contracts have been slashed, the new father dressed in plaid and black wetsuits has never looked more at home than starting his five-year deal with O’Neill.”
With Brother’s recently acquired dad strength, and his new extra-warm and stretchy wetsuits *coughs* winners of Stab’s Best Wetsuit Test 2021, we are super excited to see his surfing come Pipe beginning on the 29th of January.
