It’s Official: Mick Fanning Has A Stalker
Woman arrested for breaking into Fanning’s Gold Coast home.
The problem with being White Lightning? Sometimes chicks just dig you way too much.
A 38-year-old Ballina woman named Sarah Anne Foote was just arrested after allegedly breaking into three-time world champ Mick Fanning’s home on the Gold Coast on February 2.
“When someone walks into your house, it’s concerning, so that’s why I called the police,” Fanning told the Gold Coast Bulletin this week.
According to reports, Fanning’s neighbor spotted her hopping the fence into his backyard. It’s unclear how long she remained hunkered down, but Fanning and friends allegedly discovered her inside the home before she fled the scene.
She has been charged with unlawful stalking, entering a dwelling with intent and two counts of stealing. She also had apparently been sending him love letters before they spiraled into a dark place and she threatened to kill him.
She was eventually taken into custody and remains locked up pending the outcome of her trial.
“‘The more you ignore me the closer I get.” – Morrissey.’ Fanning’s alleged stalker Sarah Anne Foote wrote pre arrest.
“It is what it is, it’s done, she was arrested. It’s in the court’s hands, it’s in the police hands,” noted Fanning.
For Fanning, thankfully, it’s not all stalker drama. This week he got back in the water for the first time since buckling his knee on a Stab In The Dark trip in South Africa. Paddling out at Snapper on one of his signature soft-tops, the session appears to have been a success.
“The surf Stoke is REAL!! Just caught my first waves in 6 months and seriously I’m frothing! Knee felt amazing,” reported Mick.
More surfing, less stalkers. That seems like a pretty good goal for the year.
