Italo Ferreira Is Reportedly Out For The Remainder Of The Australian Leg
With a bum leg.
Earlier this week, Brendan Buckley reported that his favourite CT screwfoot with a gold chain and a potential pair of Timbs suffered an injury following a post Snapper pirouette. Yesterday, the WSL reported that Italo will be out for Margaret River and most likely Bells due to said injury. Which comes as no surprise after the images of Italo being carried up the beach wincing in pain.
Following in Filipe Toledo’s footsteps after his Snapper injury of 2016, Italo has returned to Brazil to receive a detailed prognosis from his doctor. Right now, he’s in crutches and a moon boot, stifling any of the backside aerial antics we’ve come to appreciate, and crave from the 2015 rookie of the year.
“As everyone is aware, last Wednesday, Italo suffered a direct ankle injury,” Italo’s Manager Luiz “Pinga” Campos said in a statement. “After we had completed all the exams and talked with the doctors, it was decided that he will return to Brazil in the next few days to start the recovery procedures.”
“[He may] stay out of the next [contests] of the Australian leg, and we will work to make recovery quick and complete. It is worth noting that he is well and calm. We thank everyone for the messages of support and strength.”
On the light side, nothing was broken. On the dark side, we’ll have to find someone else’s perfect ten to debate.
