Blake Lively As Surfer Hunted By Shark In New Thriller

What do you get when you cross Blue Crush with Jaws? The Shallows starring Blake Lively, surfer heroine, marooned on a dry hunk of reef while a famished man-eater circles with intent. The impression we get from the trailer is that Miss Lively is happy sharing an isolated paradise with two other surfer dudes (RIP), before one hungry fish turns up and spoils the vibe chomping down on our friends and leaving the star stranded offshore.

Eventually, for reasons that may include starvation, blood loss or high tide, she’s forced to make a dash for a nearby buoy (the shark’s anticipating this move of course) and things get messy. Guns, knives, humans being consumed by marine life, you bet this is “not just another day at the beach.”
