Watch: A Live Premiere Of Volcom’s Hair Raising Surf Film ‘Lobotomy’

How swift is filmmaker Ryan Thomas? Just when you think he’s on a deserted beach sipping Mai Tais, an almost 2-hour long cinematic surf treasure lands on your lap. Turn around to see who put it there, and boom, another piping hot piece of surf cinema lands in front of you.
Thomas’ latest and unexpected project, Lobotomy, is an all business, no bull shit surf reel starring the upper-class of Volcom’s surf department. Noa Deane, Jack Robinson, Yago Dora, Ryan Burch, Balaram Stack, and Ozzie Wright spent much of covid following their usual routine of combative ballet in front of the lens of Mr. Thomas.
Given Ryan’s repertoire in making digital gold, Volcom has decided to go all out with the release of this project.
They will be hosting a live screening of the film today on Twitch, at 3 pm PST, Thursday, June 24th. The film won’t release to the public until July, and there will be no rewinds of the event, so don’t miss the Livestream. There will also be a red carpet skate park event, product giveaways, and live music performances.
