Electric Acid Shaper Profile: Wade Tokoro

In this Electric Acid Surfboard Test shaper profile, we visit Hawaii’s Wade Tokoro of Tokoro Surfboards.

Wade hosted Noa’s dad—professional surfer and legendary Australian shaper, Wayne Deane—for years in Hawaii, where they collaborated on a number of board shapes and fin designs specific to the North Shore surf.

When Noa received his souped-up, Wayne-inspired 7’6 Tokoro for the Electric Acid Surfboard Test, he only had one thing to say: “No excuses now.”

Noa then proceeded to thread the retro-modern gun through a handful of second-reef Pipe bombs, proving its efficacy and then some.

While Noa only got to pick one favorite board to keep from the Acid Test, he was quick to note that he’d actually paid for the Tokoros out of pocket (unbeknownst to us) and would be keeping both of them, thank you very much.
