The Dagger Jeremy Stabbed Through John’s Heart
Jeremy Flores’ Pipe prince slayer!
Oh, how we love a dark horse, and none play the part as well as Jeremy Flores.
On Sunday, in the final minutes of John John Florence’s World Title season, it looked as though John would be walking away with the Pipe Masters title, until the Reunion-born interrupted John’s Pipe dream, sticking his Jason Stevenson-forged dagger right into the Hawaiian Prince’s heart.
“Talked to him yesterday afternoon and he’d been winning heats on a 6’0” Forget Me Not,” JS told Stab after Flores’ win. “It’s actually the exact same dims and model that he won on at Teahupo’o two years ago. It’s a slight step-up from his shortboard, which is a Monsta 6 (5’9 1/2” x 18 1/4” x 2 1/4” x 24.4L).
Jeremy and the rest of the team have been trying new Forget Me Not 2 prototypes, since the start of the Triple Crown. Even before the Pipe window, he’d told us that all of this Hawaiian seasons’ boards were going even better than last year’s.
There’s a touch more foam in a few key places, similar to Julian’s new Forget Me Not that he won on in Tahiti as well.”
