Kolohe Andino Surfs “Fast And Loose” And So Can You
Nothing like a new pair of FCS blades to get your surfing razor sharp.
Talk to any shaper who knows his shit, and he’ll tell you that a surfboard is nothing without complementary rudders. A board that could be your dream stick will be cast away as a dud or plug, never to be ridden again, all because you didn’t have the fins to make it go. One person who never has this problem is Kolohe Andino, whose longstanding relationship with FCS has proven vital in his race to the top of the CT rankings.
Just now, FCS is releasing its newest version of the Kolohe Andino fin, which retains the majority of its structural qualities from earlier versions but boasts a more mature aesthetic.
What can you gain from such a fin? The KA is your “everyday wave” fin, meaning that you don’t need six-foot walls to get it working. It’s meant to get you down the line, release off the lip, and turn on a dime — making it the best in fun-to-good beach break conditions. While the KA may not be your optimal choice for pumping overhead surf, it will provide the quick transitions needed in 90% of our sessions, making it the most useful set in your fin-quiver.
If you’re lucky enough to have such a thing.
